A Rare George III Hallmarked Sterling Silver Cream Jug by Thomas Ellerton & Richard Sibley I. The Cream Jug is 5 1/2" in length (handle to spout) with a diameter to the body of 3 7/8" and a height of 3 1/2 and has a weight of 7.2 oz or 206 grams. The Cream Jug sits on an circular base with a beaded shoulder round the base with an excellent shape to the body which is banded to the full circumference of the upper rim with a shaped spout and an angular solid "C" shaped handle with the handle having the unusual design but very solid to counter the fact that it has never been joined to the upper rim (this is not a fault but made as such and seldom seen) see photo's. The Body of the Cream Jug is Beautifully embossed with scrolled foliate work and raised flower heads with the interior of the cream jug having a gilt finish and a coat of arms to the cartouche(see photo's). The Cream Jug is in excellent condition (see photo's). The Hallmarks to the base are. Lion Passant - Sterling Mark. Town Mark - Leopards Head Crowned - London. Date Letter - I - 1804.
