A Rare George III Hallmarked Sterling Silver 2 Handled Cup by Thomas Wallis. The Cup has a height of 5 1/4" with a length of 7 1/4" (handle to handle) with a diameter to the top rim of 4" and a diameter to the base of 2 5/8". The Cup has a substantial weight of 13.4 oz or 380 grams.
The Cup sits on a stepped circular base with an excellent shape to the body and 2 superb double "C" scrolled handles with engraved raised thumb rests with a gilt finish to the inside of the cup (see photo's). The Body of the Cup has stunning raised embossed work with the upper body having agricultural tools set round the full circumference with the lower body having raised fruit and flowers with "C" scrolls round a vacant cartouche to each side (see photo's).
